Crypto Intelligence Analyst (Top Secret)
Location: Hybrid in Sterling, VA w/telework available
Ninja Analytics is looking for a Crypto Intelligence Analyst to join our team on a project that is currently funded. The Crypto Intelligence Analyst is responsible for conducting advanced blockchain investigations, analyzing financial and BSA/AML data, and producing actionable intelligence in support of federal law enforcement, regulatory, and compliance missions. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cryptocurrency tracing, open-source intelligence, and complex financial crime analysis, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative investigative team.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed blockchain analysis to identify illicit activity, map transaction flows, and support criminal, regulatory, or national security investigations.
Analyze BSA/AML data, suspicious activity patterns, and transactional anomalies to assess risk and develop investigative leads.
Produce written intelligence reports, investigative summaries, link charts, and briefings for government, law enforcement, and internal stakeholders.
Support federal, state, or local law enforcement partners with research, data analysis, lead generation, and investigative case support.
Utilize Chainalysis, TRM Labs, and other blockchain analytics tools to conduct in-depth tracing and attribution analysis.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams while also managing independent analytical tasks with minimal oversight.
Prepare and deliver briefings to government and internal leadership.
Maintain awareness of evolving crypto-related threats, typologies, fraud schemes, and regulatory developments.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; additional years of relevant investigative, intelligence, or financial crime analysis experience may substitute for a degree.
Required Qualifications
3 to 5 years of experience analyzing BSA data
3 to 5 years of experience in crypto analysis
3 to 5 years of experience in OSINT analysis
3 to 5 years of experience in law enforcement support
Proficiency with Chainalysis and TRM tracing suites
Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite
Proficiency in i2 Analyst Notebook
Experience in team and independent workflows
Desired Qualifications
ACAM or CFE Certified
Cryptocurrency Fundamentals Certification (CFC)- Chainalysis
Chainalysis Reactor Certification (CRC)- Chainalysis
Chainalysis Investigation Specialist Certification (CISC)- Chainalysis
Chainalysis Ethereum Investigations Certification (CEIC)- Chainalysis
Cryptocurrency Fundamentals Certification (CFC)- TRM Labs
Certified Investigator (CI)d- TRM Labs
Advanced Crypto Investigator (ACI)- TRM Labs
Security Clearance:
Selected applicants must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance
